One index across your folders. You get exact results when you need certainty, and meaning-based results when you don’t know the words.
Exact search
Find a phrase as written, count how often it appears, or list every file that mentions it. Exact results come straight from a local full-text index (SQLite FTS5), so they are the same every time and need no AI model.
Meaning-based search
With the optional search model installed, Pramvex also finds passages that mean the same thing in different words, for example “termination notice” when the document says “ending the agreement”.
Filters
Limit a search to certain file types in the scope panel. Every result shows the file, the page or section, and the highlighted match.
Supported files
- PDF, including scanned PDFs. Their text is recognised on the device by OCR and marked as OCR in results.
- Word (.docx)
- PowerPoint (.pptx)
- Plain text (.txt) and Markdown (.md)
Where the index lives
The index is stored on your computer next to Pramvex’s other data. Remove a folder from the library and its entries are removed too.
