These builds are not code-signed

Like our other B2R apps, Pramvex is distributed without a paid Apple or Microsoft signing certificate. Your computer will warn you the first time you open it. That is expected.

  • macOS: right-click the app, choose Open, then Open again.
  • Windows: on the blue SmartScreen screen, choose More info, then Run anyway.
  • Linux: chmod +x the AppImage, or install the .deb or .rpm.

Only download from this page, and check the SHA-256 below if you want to be sure the file is ours.

AI models download only when you ask

Search works the moment you add a folder. No model needed. For written answers, open Settings › Models and press Download: Pramvex recommends a model for your computer’s memory (about 2.5–4.7 GB), checks it against a published checksum and keeps it for next time. After that, everything runs offline.

Intel Mac?

Requirements

macOS on Apple Silicon (M1 or later), or an Intel Mac with the Intel build. 8 GB RAM for search; 16 GB or more recommended for local AI answers.

First launch

macOS may say the app is damaged or from an unidentified developer. It is neither; it just hasn’t been through Apple’s paid notarisation. Right-click Pramvex, choose Open, then Open again. If it still refuses, run this once in Terminal: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Pramvex.app

First launch

Make the AppImage executable with chmod +x before running it. The .deb and .rpm install like any other package.

Check the file is genuine

Because the builds aren’t signed, the SHA-256 checksum is how you confirm a download wasn’t changed. Run the command for your system and compare the result with the checksum on the card above. They must match exactly.
